Resumen

Abstract. Causes of the electoral defeat of "The Concertacion" in Chile: Political disorganization of the pro-government political parties and wears away systematic of last the 20 years. Remarkable it brings back to consciousness of class of the sectors of high income that were aligned with the political right. Chilean Middle-class depends and is subject to the market, works in the private sector and its life is better than the one of its parents, "but Frei did not manage to convince them with its speech to fortify the public education, to give to a preferential treatment to the state universities and political reforms. The great majority of the voting of the middle-class, that is younger, more educated and it likes the idea of change" voted by Piñera. The Chilean middle-class is opportunistic, "is optimistic of the future and is contented with the work of the Agreement but they do not want to change the model, but to improve their quality of life, and they are not identified whereupon everything must change".

Resumen. Causas de la derrota electoral de la Concertación en Chile: Desorganización política de los partidos políticos oficialistas y desgaste sistemático de los últimos 20 años. Notable conciencia de clase de los sectores de altos ingresos, que se alinearon con la derecha política. Clase media aspiracional chilena depende y está sujeta al mercado, trabaja en el sector privado y su vida es mejor que la de sus padres, "pero Frei no logró convencerlos con su discurso de fortalecer la educación pública, dar un trato preferencial a las universidades estatales y reformas políticas. La gran mayoría de la votación de la clase media, que es más joven, más educada y le gusta la idea de cambio" votó por Piñera. La clase media chilena es oportunista, "está optimista del futuro y está contenta con la obra de la Concertación pero ellos no quieren cambiar el modelo, sino mejorar su calidad de vida, y no se identifican con que todo tiene que cambiar".
