<p>Queridos lectores:<br>Arribamos a la edición número 53 de nuestra revista Folios, esta vez marcada por una temática híbrida que recorre el periodismo, la comunicación y la literatura. Aunque cada uno de estos tópicos tiene especificidades que sugieren publicaciones con contenidos específicos, en este caso proponemos una conversación en la que transitemos por sus límites. Esperamos abrir caminos en común entre el escritor, el periodista y el comunicador, una terna que se debe a la palabra y que se funde en su espíritu de crear, recrear o narrar lo que llamamos realidad.</p>Heiner Castañeda Bustamante

<p>The emergence of the hippie phenomenon in Colombia raised social alarm regarding youth groups that began to adopt aesthetics, philosophies, and practices that did not correspond to the traditional values of Colombian urban societies. The national press, aligned with the Nacional Front, played a fundamental role in the construction of the hippie as a transgressive youth body that had crossed the acceptable and tolerated boundaries of the established social and moral order. We analyze some of the first photographic representations, and the journalistic discourses that woven around them, to examine the ways in which the Colombian hippie body was constructed as a form of embodied transgression and was sensorially perceived, through smell, as malodourous and unpleasant, within a framework of asymmetrical social relations influenced by power toward youth groups that broke whit imposed moral standards.</p>Úrsula Mares Figueras

<p>Project created by the Facultad de Comunicación Audiovisual del Politécnico Colombiano Jaime Isaza Cadavid. This study focuses on ninth-grade students of the Institución Educativa San Fernando, at Amagá (Antioquia, Colombia), analyzing how transmedia narratives can promote educational equity and improve the mental health of participants. The research employs a qualitative approach, encouraging students to create content as an integral part of the process. Through five methodological phases (diagnosis, design, implementation, analysis, and final report), the project examines the potential of transmedia narratives to transform teaching and learning methods. Preliminary results indicate that these emerging narratives foster spaces for dialogue, creation, and participation in the educational environment. The research not only contributes to the field of transmedia narratives in education, but also offers perspectives for thebdevelopment of educommunicative strategies.</p>Maribel Salazar Estrada

<p>This text is the result of a study that, through a constructivist methodology and a qualitative approach, aimed to understand the perceptions of students and professors of the undergraduate Journalism program at the Universidad de Antioquia regarding De la Urbe (DLU), the program’s media laboratory. The results show that, although DLU is viewed positively (with an average score of seven out of ten), challenges persist in terms of its perception as a closed space, low student participation (a median of three out of ten) and editorial processes that could be clearer. The findings highlight the need to improve integration with the undergraduate curriculum, open up the editorial board, and standardize publication processes. This study un derscores the importance of DLU as a formative component and proposes actions to strengthen its procedures and promote greater inclusion and participation of the academic community.</p>Ximena Forero ArangoWalter Arias Hidalgo

<p>Twitter/X is one of the most used platforms to generate, exchange and disseminate information among journalists. Through an online survey with a mixed approach and descriptive scope conducted between June and September 2023, the practices and challenges of Latin American journalists were explored, taking into account aspects such as frequency of use, ease of access, criteria of trust in a source and risks. Among the 165 valid responses, the perception that Twitter/X has facilitated access to information sources and experts prevailed. <p>This investigation presents a theoretical review intended to serve as the foundation for a feature film aimed at making visible the cultural and communicative transformations that have occurred as a result of the armed conflict in the ancestral Emberá Dóbida and Emberá Chamí communities, located in Alto Baudó, Chocó. The topic is approached through the concepts of culture, communication, and territory, as these three axes underpin tradition and its transformations brought about by changes in space. We examinehow displacement and uprooting experienced by members of these communities ‒mainly to urban centers such as Quibdó and Medellín‒ have generated deep conflicts, in which inhabitants are forced to detach from their culture. <p>In this descriptive and interpretive article, we aim to show how Arturo Cova ‒José Eustasio Rivera’s alter ego‒ in the pages of the novel La vorágine (published in 1924), is constructed as a poet-chronicler through his own story and those of the supporting characters. <p>The so-called Antioquian literary field in contemporary authors is shaped by an attempt of a structuring of the field defined by Bourdieu. This a project emerges under the shelter of the subgenre of autofiction; with post-Garciamarquian authors whose writings of the “self” oppose the older tradicion of local realism or the Caribbean literary field. In the shadow of this autofictional aesthetics, we find self-narrations by Fernando Vallejo, Héctor Abad Faciolince, Albalucía Ángel,and Tomás González, which are considered in this article.</p>Wilber Rico

<p>The novel <em>¡Que viva la música!</em> by Colombian author Andrés Caicedo (published in 1977) makes remarkable use of the “itinerant narrator” device to follow the thread of the protagonist’s story. The protagonist embarks on an endless day and night journey in pursuit of Cali’s rumba, amid the contrasts and ambivalences of a city filled with sounds. Rock and salsa music, noise, silences, and stridencies unfold in an environment marked by the consumption of alcohol and drugs, sex, conflict, and the decay associated with decadence, illness, madness, and death. The structure reveals the character’s psychology and desires, the relationship with the city as they walk through it ‒or patonean‒ and the transformations they undergo through drugs use and immersion in rumba and music. This metaphorical journey enables storytelling through walking: an incessant, vigilant and observant patoneo that allows the city to be known from a different perspective, making it a powerful and effective narrative strategy.</p>Emilio Alberto Restrepo Baena

<p>This text aims to characterize and evaluate the political communication strategies associated with the political-administrative management of President Gustavo Petro Urrego, both by the president himself and through the news coverage of major journalistic corporations. We propose to examine the role of large media outlets ‒extensions of economic conglomerates‒ as the most effective form of political opposition to the new head of state. <p>Pensar en la inteligencia artificial (IA) resulta limitante cuando solo se la usa como una realizadora de tareas que el usuario no quiere hacer. Por esto muchas veces se la percibe con malos ojos e, incluso, se la prohíbe en contextos investigativos y creativos. No obstante, esta es una gran compañera y amiga al momento de agilizar procesos, salir de bloqueos u obtener ideas rápidas –al menos, claro, para aquellos que están en el sector literario–. En este ensayo se aborda cómo una IA puede desempeñar diferentes roles en los procesos editoriales, tanto en la escritura como en la edición y la publicación. Y cómo resulta crucial conocer estas ayudas con el fin de descargar un poco a los profesionales y facilitar los procesos que realizan cada día. Así, se presentan los roles que puede adoptar la IA, se hace una breve descripción de cada uno y sus alcances y se termina con una reflexión sobre el uso de estas herramientas y sus implicaciones éticas.</p>Natalia Restrepo Sanmartín
