Abstract. The objective of this article is to approach the ideological and political differences that hide behind the supposed non-compatibles between the qualitative methods and the quantitative ones. Opinions of qualitative investigators appear about the quantitative methods: How are seen the two traditions of investigation to each other? There is something value about "another" tradition? They accept that its own methodological direction could benefit with the integration of this type methods?

Resumen. El objetivo de este artículo es acercar las diferencias ideológicas y políticas que se esconden detrás de las supuestas incompatibilidades entre los métodos cualitativos y los cuantitativos. Se presentan opiniones de investigadores cualitativos acerca de los métodos cuantitativos: ¿Cómo se ven las dos tradiciones de investigación entre sí? ¿Hay algo que valoran acerca de la "otra" tradición? ¿Aceptan que su propia orientación metodológica podría beneficiarse con la integración de este tipo métodos?
