Abstract

Cellphones and PCs recycling (e-waste) has become a priority for most countries. In fact, e-waste volumes in countries like Colombia have encountered outstanding growth over the past few years

and will show the same behavior (TLC with Asia, UE, USA). This has made Colombian government

to create several laws to control not only the quantity of this type of waste but also to standardize the recycling procedure. This paper wants to show the different types of materials found in an iPhone 3Gs using EDS, FRX and ICP-OES technics so that the e-waste industry can improve their recycling procedures and make a better use of e-waste.
