he First Childhood Re-creation, Recreation and Motricity Primer for ICBF Homes
Abstract
This socialization corresponds to a research exercise about the role of recreation as a pedagogical strategy in the development of the work dynamics within the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare (ICBF, in its Spanish acronym) homes. It is argued that recreation provides community managers (community mothers) other alternatives that support their pedagogical action in comprehensive training, while it decreases the levels of sedentary lifestyles for children from 2 to 5 years. As a result, the study presents a methodological primer that correlates recreation and gross motor skills as stimulants for the psychomotor, cognitive, and social dimensions in order to reduce sedentarism levels in the early childhood, considering the infrastructure limitations in the municipality of Fusagasugá (Cundinamarca, Colombia), that may have increased during the COVID-19 pandemic.
