Abstract

The land is a fundamental part of the life of the Cauca’s indigenous peoples. It is around it that their cosmovision of the world is built and they organize them selves as ancestral communities that claim their culture through struggle. In a context of profound structural violence such as that of the northern part of the Cauca, the “Liberation of Mother Earth” constitutes a legitimate response to recover the harmony of the territory and guarantee the rights of the nasa people. Making clear the profound difference between the hegemonic interests defended by the Colombian state and the popular projects of alternative existence in the economic, political, and cultural spheres.
