El Departamento de Economía y el Centro de Investigaciones Económicas -CIE- de la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas rinden homenaje a la memoria de quien fuera uno de sus más ilustres profesores.
Con la publicación, parcial, de estas Conferencias de historia económica colombiana nuestra revista quiere contribuir a la divulgación de la obra, vasta y rica, de quien dedicó su vida a la lucha contra la intolerancia, a la búsqueda de la sabiduría.
Como él lo expresa, su quehacer fue
[...] continuar otra vez, una más,
hasta cuando
la búsqueda conduzca a alguna empresa.
A una empresa tenaz, larga, atrevida
capaz de sacudir las bases del saber,
y de calar el fondo de la vida.
