Publication and authorship:

The magazine Lecturas de Economía is edited by the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Antioquia. The electronic address of the journal is revistalecturas@udea.edu.co and its website , Lecturas de Economía

Lecturas de Economía, has the following structure: an editorial committee, an editor, an editorial assistant and a scientific committee that guarantee quality and relevance. of the published content. Members are evaluated every two years based on their recognition in the area and academic production, which must be visible in other national and international journals.

Manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original and unpublished and must not be simultaneously in the evaluation process or have editorial commitments with other publications. Therefore, the manuscript must not be partially or completely published in another repository. If the author of an article wishes to include it later in another publication, the medium in which it is published must request authorization from the editor of the journal and clearly indicate the data of the original publication.

Responsibilities of the author:

The editorial teams approve the manuscripts taking into account the evaluation carried out by academic peers and meeting criteria of quality and investigative rigor. However, the authors are solely responsible for the ideas expressed, as well as their ethical suitability.

Authors must make it explicit that the manuscript respects intellectual property rights. If material is used that is not owned by the authors, it is their responsibility to ensure that they have the proper authorizations for use, reproduction and publication.

Likewise, the authors agree to submit their manuscripts to anonymous academic peer review outside the institution to which they are affiliated. The authors will consider the corrections suggested by the evaluators and, if they are accepted, they will undertake to incorporate them within the deadlines established by the editor. The submission of the corrected manuscript must be accompanied by a note addressed to the editorial team indicating which corrections were incorporated and explaining why the remaining suggestions were not accepted. Once the journal receives the corrected manuscript, the author will be informed of its full approval.

When the manuscripts are not accepted for publication, the editor will send a notification to the authors explaining the reason for the rejection of their publication. The Editorial Committee reserves the last word on the publication of the manuscripts and the number in which they will be published as articles. That date will be met as long as the author sends all the documentation requested within the indicated deadlines.

The authors of the manuscripts authorize, by sending their manuscript through the OJS system, the use of intellectual property rights and the assignment of copyright to the University of Antioquia, so that the University can include the documents in both print and electronic versions.

Research articles that involve the participation of human subjects

Those research articles that are sent to Lecturas de Economía that present research results in which the participation of people at an individual level, or groups of people or communities, must adhere to strict standards in its procedures for data processing and application of methodologies for obtaining data by the people involved, this is considering informed consent. For our journal it is essential that the authors adhere to ethical principles that protect the dignity, rights and well-being of the people who participated in the research that is intended to be published.

All research that involves the participation of people at the individual level, or groups of people, must have the validation and approval of said practices by an ethics committee that ensures the application of high ethical standards.

Our journal Lecturas de Economía will require the authors, prior to review by academic peers and subsequent publication, to attach evidence that allows verifying that these ethical principles were followed. For more details, the author or authors can consult the following ethical guidelines, to which the magazine Lecturas de Economía adheres.

Correction and Retraction Policies

Lecturas de Economía is committed to maintaining the integrity of the literature and will publish Errata, Expressions of Concern, or Retraction Notices depending on the situation and following COPE's Retraction Guidelines. In all cases, these notices will be linked to the original article.

Information on COPE's retraction guidelines can be found here: Retraction Guidelines

Conflicts of interest

When submitting an article, the authors make a declaration of conflicts of interest regarding possible evaluators that should not be taken into account. Also, the evaluators and editors sign a declaration of conflicts of interest regarding whether the double-blind condition is broken and the author or authors being evaluated are known. The members of the editorial committee are not allowed to send articles to be published. No more than 10% of the authors of each number belong to the University of Antioquia.
