Abstract

In this paper the effect of the oxy acetylene flame type, the feedstock powder flow and the relative velocity between the torch and the substrates, on the structural quality of NiCrBSiFe coatings, deposited on boron steel, using an Eutectic-Castolin torch Castodyn 8000TM, was studied. The results show the importance of the control of the feedstock flow powder as the main parameter of the process, as well, as the contribution of the low relative speed between the torch and the substrate, for the thermally sprayed coatings with a compact structure.
