The epistemological debate in psychology: a current problem

Abstract

Numerous currents have formed the history of psychology, many have disappeared and others have been transformed. Schools with its own language, with a vision of its purpose and a specific intervention method, which enriches and gives life to psychology itself, but to what extent this diversity has hindered the discussion of the condition scientific or not of this discipline? Is the plurality which has caused this or is the unwillingness of psychologists to keep alive the debate? Some psychologists are beyond the debate by proclaiming the end of psychologies and the rise of a unitary paradigm, but most have abandoned the

theoretical reflection on their practice to serve in the field of action that they have chosen. This can be checked with the small number of documents found to account for the epistemological discussion, and several of the sources analyzed have an ideological position to a current or more specific proposal that the
