Leisure in the Context of Simultaneous Work and Study in University Students
Abstract
The objective of this research was to study the incidence of simultaneous work and study in the leisure time and spaces of students in distance and virtual learning education modalities at Corporación Universitaria Minuto de Dios (Uniminuto) in Bogotá, Colombia. From a quantitative perspective, a questionnaire-type information collection instrument was applied (after a construct and expert validation) to a population sample of 486 undergraduate students in virtual and distance learning modalities, whose main characteristic is that they were simultaneously working and studying. The categories of serious leisure, casual leisure, digital leisure, and satisfaction with leisure times were addressed, showing that, despite existing scarce moments and spaces for leisure, there is a high satisfaction with leisure.
