Physical activity as a strategy to develop quality of life and perception of well-being
Abstract
Regular physical activity helps prevent and treat non-communicable diseases, thus improving people's quality of life. To this end, public facilities must ensure appropriate services and infrastructure and the guidance of qualified professionals. Consequently, this study aims to evaluate the impact of physical exercise on health and the perception of well-being in park goers in a community in Bogotá. A sequential mixed method research was designed, divided into three phases. Here we present the partial results of phases one and two: 1) a system was adapted to monitor activities in the community and collect recurrence and quality information of the parks; 2) the sociodemographic and occupational characterization survey of students in a physical education program of a private university was validated; 3) strategies were designed to continue the study during the pandemic.
