Abstract

This article exposes the results of an interpretive approach to an ‘‘artistic context’’, where it is sought to explore and analyze the exhibition present in it and its surroundings to decipher and reflect on it and what is beyond that mate riality; this, in an attempt to call attention to those possible exercises for anthropology nowadays. In this process, an approachment is made to the Multidisciplinary Laboratory of Creation and Innovation at the Arts Department of the Antioquia University (CreaLab) and the current exhibition called Mujeres –presencias y facetas (Women – presences and facets), with the aim of making an analysis of the context parting from categories proposed by some authors around the theme of the anthropology of art. For that purpose, consideration is given to the physical attributes of the space, socioeconomic elements and theintention of the exhibition, which illustrates, through photographs and text fragments, the incursion of some of Antioquia’s women into public life and ultimately creating a generalized ideal of the ‘‘woman from Antioquia’’ as a fighter,disregarding the diverse socioeconomic conditions that allowed those processes and the privileged possibility of transgressing the current patriarchal society model.
