The mechanical behavior of two different matrices of metakaolin-based geopolymers, containing silicon carbide nanowhiskers, is described. The influence of silicon carbide shows a constant increase in flexural strength in both samples. Even when the resistance to compression shows little improvement, under certain aging time a 42.71% increase was observed. Considering the presence of nanomaterials, a dispersion technique of sonication was used. Furthermore, thermal curing during 24 hours was applied and infrared spectrum changes of different bands were analyzed.
