El Palacio de Congresos de Versalles, muy cercano al lugar donde el rey Luis XV autorizó a Claude Bourgelat la creación de la primera escuela de Veterinaria, en Lyon, fue el escenario donde se celebró la ceremonia de apertura del Año Mundial Veterinario Vet2011. El comisario europeo de Sanidad y Protección del Consumidor señaló su aprecio y valoración por la profesión veterinaria.
