Abstract

This article aims to analyze trends, relationships between concepts, and the origins of literature related to green bonds as a tool for sustainable finance. Green bonds are a growing trend among companies and governments worldwide, as they contribute to environmental initiatives that benefit the planet and serve as instruments with impacts on finance and sustainable development. To achieve this, a sample of 213 papers was sourced from Scopus and 2930 from Web of Science (WoS) and subsequently processed using Bibliometrix in R Studio. The results indicate that the green bond market and sustainable finance are the subject of extensive research in China and among various institutions. Furthermore, keyword analysis reveals that sustainable development, as well as impact and performance studies, are the most frequently addressed concepts in the research. Future studies may involve geographic analysis to examine how research on green bonds varies across continents and to assess the regulations issued in different regions.
