Abstract

This article synthesizes the experiences of seven sociolegal programs of the Guillermo Peña Alzate Legal Clinic at the University of Antioquia (2014–2021), based on a systematization process that highlights their methodology and contribution to the debate on law and politics through the articulation of teaching, research, and outreach. These programs connect law with the needs of vulnerable populations. The practices provide students with a sense of purpose that transcends technical training, while fostering critical reflection on ethical, political, and social aspects, aligned with active pedagogies and social commitment. The article proposes discussions and deconstructions around reflections that may, in the future, inform decisions to strengthen these practices and their impact on the people and communities they serve.
