Abstract

Play The Game is an independent institution consisting of a group of experts from the European Union that has the support and sponsorship of the Danish Institute of Sports Studies; this is an advisory body of the International Council of Sports Sciences and Physical Education, whose interests and objects of study are focused on the promotion of good governance in sports organizations. In alignment with Play The Game, the Universidad de Ciencias Aplicadas y Ambientales (UDCA), the Universidad de Antioquia and the Institución Universitaria Escuela Nacional del Deporte developed an international study, on which the results of the first phase carried out with seven sports federations and the Comité Olímpico Colombiano are presented. The study found that Colombia has a moderate governance index (49%) and has the lowest score regarding social responsibility.
