Abstract

Insights into motor behavior have been studied for a long time. The findings of Paul de Broca and Sperry opened the door to the investigation of laterality and manual asymmetries related to the influence of environmental and biological factors. The article aism to provide a narrative on these questions, emphasizing the biological aspects, together with analyses that explain lateralized behavior and the occurrence of manual asymmetries, related to hemispheric specialization. The study provides conclusions on the influence of the interaction of these factors in the development of laterality and opens new lines of research to deepen the study of manual asymmetries.
