Abstract

The impact of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) on education is undeniable. In general, education systems have to cope with the exponential growth of knowledge due to globalization and continuous technological and scientific advances. For Physical Education teachers in particular, the integration of these technologies into their pedagogical practice is a major challenge. In this context, the question arises: What is the role of education in the knowledge society? In order to answer this question, it is essential to take into account the person that the education system has to educate. ICT has changed the relationship between teacher, student and content, especially in Physical Education. Therefore, the aim of this study was to understand the role of ICT in the teaching practices of Physical Education teachers. A multiple case study research was designed with a historical-hermeneutic perspective and qualitative approach, which allows the researcher to interpret and understand, from an intersubjective point of view, how teachers incorporate ICT in their educational practices.
