This paper examines the anti-detective and metaphysical elements in the Argentinean novel Elena sabe by Claudia Piñeiro. We establish that these characteristics transform this text into a postmodern detective novel. In order to carry out this work, consideration is mostly given to the theories proposed by Stefano Tani, Patricia Merivale and Susan Elizabeth Sweeney.
