ABSTRACT This article consists of a first introductory part that evidences the importance of studying this creole language spoken in Colombian territory, and of a second part, where a summary of recent research results on a grammatical aspect (the expression of reflexivity) is presented. After a description of the Palenquero strategies for the expression of this grammatical category, it is argued in favour of a Kikongo substratic origin for the structure.Downloads
