Abstract

A new species and a recognized name in Elaphoglossum Schott ex J. Sm. section Squamipedia Mickel & Atehortúa from Colombia and Venezuela are included here: E. serpentinum A. Rojas & W.D. Rodríguez and E. rhynchophyllum H. Christ, respectively. The new species differs from Elaphoglossum teleglottis Mickel by having shorter rhizome scales and smaller blade scales. The second species has been synonimized under Elaphoglossum lloense (Hook.) T. Moore, but differs from it in its stellate (vs. hastate) and smaller blade scales that are orange to brown (vs. dark brown to blackish) and sparse (vs. medium dense).
