Three first reports of bony fishes for the Colombian Caribbean

Abstract

Descriptive data on three species of bony fishes collected at La Guajira by the Invemar-Macrofauna II cruise are presented; these are their first records for the Colombian Caribbean. The studied species are Ophichthus cruentifer (Goode and Bean) (Ophichthidae), one 301 mm total length specimen collected at 493 m, Anchoa cubana (Poey) (Engraulidae), one 58.07 mm standard length (SL) specimen from 22 m, and Trichopsetta melasma Anderson and Gutherz (Bothidae), one 144.82 mm SL specimen from 152 m.
