En diciembre de 1986 se recibió en el laboratorio de herpetología de la Universidad del Valle, el contenido estomacal de un cernícalo (Falco sparveruis) macho, colectado al morir estrellado contra una ventana del Instituto de Investigaciones Marinas de Punta Betín, cerca a la ciudad de Santa Marta (Colombia).
