Determinación fenotípica de la haptoglobina mediane la técnica electroforética en gel de policrilamida

La haptoglobina es una glicoproteína del plasma sanguíneo. A parte del papel fisiológico que desempeña en la especie humana por su polimorfismo constituye un marcador genético de identificación, muy utilizado en genética legal, como en los casos de legitimidad de la paternidad, de cambio involuntario de recién nacidos y en investigación para la confirmación de homocigosidad de gemelos, la consanguinidad, etc. Con raras excepciones, en la población general la haptoglobina presenta 3 patrones fenotípicos (figura Nro. 1) que corresponde a los genotipos 1-1, 2-1, y 2-2.
