Abstract

The metil-testosterone action in male alevines newly born P. maculatus, induce in the firsts days of life the transformation of the anal flipper in the gonopod and the transformation of the caudal flipper in a structure in sword shape. This both phenomena are obtained in almost normal in females treated with the same dosis. It have been noticed that the hormone acts on the gonad acelerating teh spermatogenesis and inhibiting the oogenesis. On the other hand, the adult specimens treated with metil-testosterone, had a structural fomation in the caudal flipper in sword shape for females and males. In these last ones the gonopd did not suffer any modification, but the spermatogenesis was acelerated; the females instead, the anal flipper was transformated in an almost normal gonopod and the oogenesis was inhibted.
