From ethanolic extract of aerial parts of Canna edulis Ker Gawl., were isolated three compounds: ‚-sitosterol,‚-sitosteryl-3-O-‚-D-glucopyranose and 5,7,8,3¥,4¥-pentahydroxyflavone-3¥-O-4¥¥-‚-L-glucopyranose-1¥¥-O-2¥¥¥-‚-D-glucopyranose by means of chromatographic techniques. Structural characterization of isolatedmetabolites was achieved by IR and NMR spectroscopy in one and two dimensions.
