Distribución vertical y coexistencia de seis especies de aves que anidan en agroecosistemas en el Este de la Península Ibérica

El estudio de la diversidad aviar en agroecosistemas es un tema de gran interés para entender la dinámica de estas comunidades en entornos urbanos. El objetivo del estudio fue identificar el nivel de sobreposición en la selección de los sitios de nidificación dealgunas especies de aves en cultivos de naranjo ubicados en la localidad de Algemesí, provincia de Valencia, España y su distribución vertical en relación con los micrositios de nidificación. Se realizó una búsqueda intensiva de nidos en los árboles y se midieron variables de micrositios como la altura del árbol, la cobertura de copa, la altura de ubicación del nido y la distancia del nido al borde. Los análisis estadísticos incluyeron PERMANOVA y análisis de discriminación para identificar diferencias significativas y agrupaciones entre las especies en función de las variables de nidificación. En total se encontraron 98 nidos pertenecientes a seis especies de aves paseriformes (Silvia melanocephala, Turdus merula, Serinus serinus, Chloris chloris, Turdus philomelos, y Muscicapa striata). Se observaron diferentes patrones fenológicos entre las especies, y las características de los sitios de nidificación variaron según la altura de ubicación del nido y la distancia al borde. La elección del sitio de nidificación de Turdus philomelos varío en comparación con las otras especies. Estos resultados sugieren que las distintas historias de vida de las especies influyen en la segregación de los sitios de nidificación, lo que a su vez afecta la coexistencia y estructura de la comunidad de aves.
