The mourning, a struggle

The current essay deals with the mourning from its double meaning: from Freudian connotation of work facing up the loss of an object of love; and as a struggle. Several normal times of mourning and the structural implications they involved are highlighted. As well, an ethical status of the mourning is noticed, due to the determination every mourning demands through the sacrifice of a part of the subject itself. The changes concerning the ghost, the function of funeral rites, as well as the relation between castration and death are other topics to be developed in this text.
