Abstract

This article arises from the evaluation of two definitions given by Lacan to the concept of the superego in the period between 1953 and 1958. Lacan explains the superego as an effect of the symbolic action over the subject. This paper is concerned with the definitions in which Lacan links the superego to the discourse: as an imposed discourse and interrupted discourse.
