This text explores the representation and construction of identity amidst pain and trauma in Diana López Zuleta's Lo que no borró el desierto while seeking justice. It posits that the autobiographical text serves to construct identity and pursue personal goals. This article employs theories on autobiography, grief, and trauma to analyze López Zuleta's narrative representation. It concludes that this autobiographical narrative is a testimony of violence and corruption, intertwined with a personal traumatic story where the narrator focuses on values of truth and justice. It merges personal memory and documentary sources, with subjective truth prevailing. Additionally, it acts to process trauma and grief, facilitating personal reconciliation.
