This article aims to expose how the main character in Al diablo la maldita primavera illustrates some of the tensions that surround gay identity in the Colombian capital. These tensions are a result of the embracement of consumerist patterns, including hedonism, partying and fashion exported from New York by homosexuals that belong to radically opposite historical, social and cultural backgrounds.
