Abstract

During several centuries the observation of works of art under the medical perspective has occupied the attention of academic and studios of Art and Medicine with surprising discoveries in both fields, and semiologics implications that consider the illeness models and the pathological topics in the painting or in the sculpture, like a new issue denominated social art, never lacking the aesthetic option.

In particular, the hypotheses about the constant deformity of the fingers in Alberto Durer's works, constitutes an analysis model that drives to establish rules of medicine study art. ¿Author's license? ¿Campodactilia or clinodactilia in the models? ¿ Their own occupational illness captured in their works? Religious symbolism in an era of domian of the Catholic Church threatened by reformist movements? The present research trys for answer to those questions.

Key words: Durero Alberto, Medicine, Art.
