About the Journal

Focus and Scope of the Journal

Lingüística y Literatura is a biannual peer reviewed journal edited by the Department of Linguistics and Literature and the Faculty of Communications and Philology of the University de Antioquia. Established in 1979, its main purpose is to publish scientific research articles on literature and linguistics, written by national and international scholars and academics. Our journal is focused on a mostly university audience, interested in the latest research on linguistics and literature from any region or period.

The career and the acknowledgement of the experts that form the Editorial and the Scientific Comitee of the review, as well as the evaluation processes of the received articles, guarantee the scientific quality of Lingüística y Literatura.

Peer Review Process

  • The articles received are sent to internal or external peers at the University of Antioquia for peer review.
  • The articles are selected according to criteria of quality, relevance, originality, presentation, and rigourosity.
  • Peer reviewers may accept, accept with modifications or reject the proposed articles.
  • In all cases, the journal will notify its authors of the Editorial Committee’s decision by e-mail within a period of no more than three months.
  • The receipt of texts does not imply their publication.

Frequency of Publication

Lingüística y Literatura is published biannual (January, July), two (2) issues per year in digital versions, corresponding to the periods between January-June and July-December. 

Open Access Policy

Lingüística y Literatura appears in print and in digital version in order to provide immediate free access to its content, under the principle of free availability to research products for the general public. In this way, it seeks to provide a greater exchange of knowledge and contribute to the construction of a global scientific community.

The material created by you may be distributed, copied and displayed by third parties if and only if it is specified in the credits. No commercial benefit can be obtained and the derivative works must be under the same license terms as the original work.

Those authors who have publications with this journal, accept the following terms:

  • The journal is the owner of the copyright of the articles, which will be simultaneously subject to the Creative Commons BY-NC-SA (Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike) 4.0 International License, that allows third parties to share the work provided its author is indicated and its first publication in this journal.
  • The authors may adopt other agreements of non-exclusive license of distribution of the version of the published work (e.g., deposit it in an institutional telematic file or publish it in a monographic volume) provided that the initial publication in this journal is indicated.
  • Authors are allowed and recommended to disseminate their work via the Internet (e.g. in institutional telematic files or on their website) before and during the submission process, which can produce interesting exchanges and increase citations of the published work.

No APCs

Linguística y Literatura upholds the belief that scientific and academic knowledge should be made available to the public. In line with this principle, Linguística y Literatura supports the NO APC’s (No Article Processing Charges) policy which gives free access to its scholarly research publications and supports the acceptance of articles based only on their academic merit. Besides, in accordance with good editorial practices promoted by organizations such as DOAJLinguística y Literatura does not charge for article evaluation, copyediting, layout,  publication or any of the other steps necessary for the articles to be published and to reach their audience. 

Privacy Statement

Personal Data Privacy Statement: The names and email addresses registered in Lingüística y Literatura will be used exclusively for the purposes set out in it and will not be used for any other purpose to any other party. No APCs.
