Sino-Peruvian author Siu Kam Wen’s (Guangdong, 1951) collection of short stories El tramo final (1986) depicts the Chinese diaspora in Peru as a disseminated cultural region. This region takes shape as the Chinese, after overcoming the stigma of inferiority that marked them in the beginning, disseminate their roots throughout different zones and social strata in Lima, and even through latitudes beyond this city.
