Between the 1920s and 1940s, the Bogota press had a very important progress, because of its modernization, initiated since the late 19th century, and industrialization, along with the city’s growth, which in those years made the transition to the a larger city. Associated with these changes in the press, was a reporter type here called neofolletinista, which not only contributed to development of narrative journalistic genres, but also played an important role in the process of conquering a new market by magazines and newspapers, which found in this type of reporter a key tool for reaching a new mass audience. Two of these neofolletinistas were Osorio Lizarazo and Ximenez, who were inspired by foreign literature to write their stories about the city.
