ABSTRACT
All human artifacts are undelied by a common fact which is the ideologization behind its structure, functioning and ends. Language as a human creation does not escape from this principle; therefore, everything which springs from it and the way it works is biased by ideologies. The dictionary as an instrument to represent and spread a language is not neutral to such a principle. The reflection in this paper aims at showing some aspects which are not the last word on the matter; nevertheless, it poses the issue of the ideological biases regarding the motivations for the production and the contents of dictionaries.
