This paper analyzes some difficulties that had risen after the discussions on canon, specifically about the normative and evaluative functions of the criticism. From that point I will try to argue that a possible answer could be developed with the “complex normativity” concept –which Lambert Zuidervaart refers at the end of his investigation on Adorno’s aesthetic theory. In that purpose, I will reconstruct the Zuidervaart proposal context and some of its main elements.
