Abstract

This text presents the tensions and discrepancies of the ordinary jurisdiction in regards to the special indigenous jurisdiction, which was acknowledged by the Colombian State -through the Political Constitution of 1991- as the proper way to set, administer and apply justice in the diverse indigenous contexts in the country. The author invites us to deeper understand the meanings of the meanings of the millenary justice practices, its strengths and weaknesses, the moments of interaction with ordinary justice and the conflicts with military justice, so that we can move forward towards a relationship with greater respect and understanding of the organizational life of the communities.
