Relación entre la percepción de uno mismo y factores asociados a la salud física en estudiantes de tercer ciclo de Educación Primaria. Autoconcepto y salud en escolares

Problema: la incidencia global de problemas de peso y obesidad en niños ha alcanzado niveles preocupantes, señalando la urgencia de desarrollar estrategias de prevención e intervención. Objetivo: examinar el estado de salud física y psicosocial de estudiantes en el tercer ciclo de educación primaria, estableciendo conexiones entre variables físico-saludables, psicosociales y sociodemográficas. Método: muestra de 142 alumnos, con edades entre 10 y 12 años (M=11,03±0,69). Se emplearon instrumentos como un cuestionario ad-hoc, báscula, tallímetro, cuestionario AF-5 y cuestionario APALQ. Resultados: la mayoría de participantes mantenía un peso normal y un nivel de actividad física moderadamente activo. No obstante, se destacó que los niveles más bajos de autoconcepto se encontraron en las dimensiones física y emocional, siendo más comunes en mujeres que en hombres. Conclusión: se evidenció una relación inversa entre la edad de los participantes y el autoconcepto académico y físico, así como entre el índice de masa corporal y el autoconcepto físico.
