Sport development models and conditional factors related to sport talent development

Sport talent development is a complex process which it involves interaction of physical, psychological, sociological and environmental factors, but to date, there have been relatively few studies respect to forms in that elite athletes reach development in sport, still achievement of excellence in athletic performance one of the main objectives of the clubs and local and national sports federations, which invest substantial resources oriented Sport Talent Development programs. Some theorists have proposed different models of Sports Development in order to ensure sports training from the perspective of performance, long-term sports training, life habits, among others. The overriding objective of these programs is to identify, train, support and retain young people with potential yield for a long period, with the hope that, in time, some can get to reach an elite level. In this review the main Sport Development Models are addressed, looking for their understanding. Are analyzed some basic assumptions, limitations and practical implications in sports processes, and the identification of the different parts of their structures, aims, consequences and the variables (conditioning factors) that can affect this process.
