Objective: to evaluate the effect of messages sent via email on the level of physical activity (LPA) in university students of Medellín-Colombia. Method: this clinical trial included 31 sedentary young university students who were randomly assigned to two groups: Control (n=15), did not receive information via email; Intervention (n=16), who received messages through the email. The followup in each group was 8 weeks, and the LPA was evaluated objectively and subjectively under baseline and post-intervention conditions. Results: in both groups there was a reduction in NAF, however, this was lower in the control group (p = 0.018). Conclusion: the messages sent by email are
not a means that, by itself, motivate students to modify their NAF.
