Abstract

Were studied 8 cases of children and adolescents, between 10 and 16 years old, diagnosed with the Autism Spectrum Disorder –ASD–, who belong to the Integral Habilitation Program offered by the Fundación Integral in Medellín, Colombia. Objective: To describe the psychomotor profile of children and adolescents with ASD. Method: Study with quantitative research design, descriptive, non-experimental approach. Picq & Vayer (1977) psychomotor profile examination for second childhood was applied. Results: The total of participants were adolescents male with an average age of 12 to 13 years old, with a differential range around 1.8 years old; However, the development of the tests showed shortcomings in the achievement of the proposed tasks, thus leading to demonstrate that, after the application of the test, their perceived cognitive ages were between 6 and 11 years. Conclusion: The measurements of psychomotor profiles are a useful input for the creation of intervention proposals in the physical, perceptive and cognitive capacities. The lifestyles, as well as the stimuli received by the participants in the first ages, can also influence the obtaining of the results in the tests, although they do not reach the expected ones. In this group, mainly the component of the strength of the lower train evidences the difficulty of contractile response for the realization of the activities raised that are not directly related to their daily life.
