Abstract

The article states the need to have a measurement model for Knowledge Management, specifically in information organizations, and shows the main results of researches that served as a base for the posing of a measurement model for Knowledge Management in these organizations, that include: analysis of models precursors of scientific literature, feasibility of the application of the se models in information organizations and the relation between the processes and sub-processes of Knowledge Management as the capitals system and the measurement indicators. There is a description of the model and its four basic dimensions: Actors; strategic processes of knowledge; support processes and organizational culture; capitals system, and indicators system. There is an explanation of the results of these four dimensions and final considerations, highlighting that the model represents a first look at the determination of the value in information organizations, based on the value of intangibles and gives a managerial tool for information professionals and information organizations, aiming to the continuous improvement of organizational performance and its positioning before the challenges of current society based on intangibles.
