Abstract

The house bat exclusion is the best method for the management conflict between bats and men in buildings. However, the exclusion limits the localization of new bat roosts. For this, we offered artificial roosts as a complement of the house bats exclusion activities. These experiences took place in the Universidad del Valle, Cali, departamento del Valle del Cauca,Colombia, where we constructed two designs of bat houses (called CPM). Two of the five CPM installed begin to be occupied by some Molossus molossus individuals. Some of the criterions for the design, construction, and installation are described in this document.
