About the Journal
Focus and Scope
The journal’s publishing policy focuses on the dissemination of academic articles on subjects related to the theoretical-clinical field of psychoanalysis, and its connection to other disciplines that contribute to the permanent and necessary transformation of it, due to the junction between its practice and the specific problems of each era.
The published articles are classified in the following categories: research paper (those presenting the results of completed research from an analytical, interpretative or literary criticism perspective with original sources); short paper (short documents presenting preliminary or partial original results of a research in psychoanalysis); reflection paper (those non-derived of research, that is, essays).
The Journal also includes a section dedicated to the publication of classical psychoanalysis texts, and another one where you can find literary reviews and the most recent publications of the Psychoanalysis Department, as well as translations, on some occasions.
The articles presented to publication must be original productions, that is, that have not been published in other media. If they are the result of a research process, the data corresponding to the research project must be indicated.
As part of our publishing policy, and with the aim of distributing the Journal in other latitudes, the articles proposed for publication can be sent in Spanish, Portuguese, French or English. The published articles will include the abstract in Spanish, Portuguese, French, and English.
Peer-Review Process
In the first step, the Journal’s Publishing Committee chooses the articles presented for publication that comply with all the requirements for its review and further publication. Subsequently, these undergo an academic review process by arbitrators qualified in the specific subject and topic and that are part of national and international institutions. This process is known as the double-blind peer review, in which the reviewer is not aware of the author’s identity and the author is not aware of the reviewer’s identity. After this first assessment, the Journal will inform the author the result of the revision and the most important aspects of it: approved with or without modifications or rejected. Lastly, the approved articles, after revision and assessment by the authors, undergo an editorial revision that includes the proofreading and revision of the publishing criteria of the Journal. These revisions are also sent to the author.
In each case the revision made by the academic arbitrators will be well respected and, in case of concept disparity between them, the Publishing Committee will be the one entitled to determine the final fate of the article.
