Hoarding disorder from a psychoanalytic approach. Hoard: the hidden treasure

This paper presents a reflection on hoarding disorder in order to trace some theoretical and conceptual coordinates to think about the cause and about what could be at stake at the psychic and affective level in the subjects suffering this particular repetition compulsion. It also takes into account the question about the possible relationship between the compulsive hoarding and the consumer society we live in. The purpose of this reflection is not to offer conclusive answers on this “dis-order”, but to try to punctuate the importance of thinking case by case, and of articulating questions that allow the reader to complexify and delve into this “new” modality of jouissance.
