El rock en la Universidad de Antioquia

Abstract

The article allows us to see some aspects of the cultural process that the University has experienced in recent years. Some aspects of the research carried out during the years 2003 - 2004 about the history of rock are presented in it. Issues such as privatization, drug use and the lack of recognition of popular culture are dealt with, making a critique of the way in which these problems are raised and solved. Both rock, like many youth demonstrations, are stigmatized because they break with traditional schemes and because their value is unknown. Finally, it warns about the need to put into practice cultural policies that facilitate cultural encounters and the participation of students in different activities.
