About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Estudios de Literatura Colombiana is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published for undergraduate and graduate students and researchers whose object of study is related to Colombian literature. The phenomenon we now understand as Colombian literature is comprised of several kinds of literature that are written and spoken in indigenous, African, and European languages. Estudios de Literatura Colombiana is published twice a year (January, July) by the Ph.D. in Literature and Master of Literature of the University of Antioquia.
Peer Review Process
Immediately after each cut-off date (February 15 and August 15) the process of evaluating the texts received. The process contemplates the following stages:
1. Editorial Board. The following criteria will be used: academic writing, relevance, originality and investigative rigor. The author whose text is not approved will be notified via email.
2. Evaluating pairs. The journal uses a high percentage to external evaluators at the University of Antioquia. Each text will be evaluated through the double blind process (peer review) by two experts in the field, who will have twenty days to issue their verdict. They can accept (with or without modifications) or reject the article. The evaluations will be sent to the author by email. In case they are radically opposed, a third evaluator will be used.
3. Adjustments. The author will have ten days to adapt his article to the evaluators suggestions.
4. Style correction. The adjusted article will change to style correction. The editorial Committee of the journal may request additional corrections.
Publication Frequency
Estudios de Literatura Colombiana is published semiannually (January, July) in printed and digital versions, corresponding to the periods between January-June and July-December.
Open Access Policy
Estudios de Literatura Colombiana appears in print and in digital version in order to provide immediate free access to its content, under the principle of free availability to research products for the general public. In this way, it seeks to provide a greater exchange of knowledge and contribute to the construction of a global scientific community.
The material created by you may be distributed, copied and displayed by third parties if and only if it is specified in the credits. No commercial benefit can be obtained and the derivative works must be under the same license terms as the original work.

Sources of Support
Estudios de Literatura Colombiana has no business spirit or commercial purposes, so it does not have fees for the Article Processing Charge (APC) sent by the authors. Nor does it charge for the submission of articles. The magazine is financed in its entiretyand with resources from Faculty of Communications and Research Vice-Rectory of the University of Antioquia. The entire publication process is free for authors.
